The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia is pleased to announce Yvette A. Núñez as Vice President of Civic Affairs.

Ms. Núñez, the first Latina to hold a senior leadership role at the Chamber, will lead the organization’s civic engagement and local government advocacy efforts at Philadelphia City Hall. As part of this work, Ms. Núñez will advance the mission of the Chamber’s Roadmap for Growth Action Team, a group of dedicated business, civic and community leaders committed to working collaboratively with the Mayor and City Council to promote an agenda of growth and prosperity for all citizens of Philadelphia.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Ms. Núñez served as Chief Communications Officer for Congreso de Latinos Unidos, a multiservice nonprofit organization headquartered in Philadelphia with a national reputation for outcomes measurement and expert service delivery in the Latino community. In that role, she led the agency’s communications, civic engagement, corporate relations, events, fundraising and volunteer management initiatives.

During her tenure, the agency executed a multiyear rebranding effort, made its debut on Philly.com’s Top Workplaces in the Region, was featured on CNN for its voter engagement work, and grew its signature events.

“We are thrilled to have such an accomplished professional join the Chamber to assist in our efforts to enhance economic growth within the City of Philadelphia,” said Rob Wonderling, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. “Yvette Núñez’s extensive experience building partnerships and advocating on behalf of both business and civic organizations will further enhance the work of the Chamber as we advance policies that benefit the Greater Philadelphia region.”

Ms. Núñez is an Appointee to the Pennsylvania State Advisory Committee to the US Civil Rights Commission, is on the Latino Marketing Advisory Group for Visit Philly, and currently serves on the Board of The Center for Grieving Children. She has also served as Chair of the Latino Employment Opportunities Network, former Chair and Past President of the Philadelphia Public Relations Association, and a former member of the PHLDiversity Board of Directors.

She has served as a moderator, panelist, and presenter at various local and national conferences, including the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, and the National Council of La Raza. In 2015, Ms. Núñez served as a Judge for the International Latino Book Awards.

“I am honored to join the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia,” Núñez said. “I believe that my broad experience in non-profit leadership and civic engagement within the Philadelphia community will aid me in my role in civic affairs for the Chamber. I am excited to have the chance to join Rob Wonderling and the entire Advocacy team to forge new paths within Philadelphia’s business community.”

Ms. Núñez is an honors graduate of Temple University, where she earned a degree in Journalism. She is a freelance writer and has been published in The Huffington Post, The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Philadelphia Tribune.
