The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia (the Chamber) is pleased to announce that Teresa Bryce Bazemore, President of Radian Guaranty Inc., will receive the 2017 Paradigm Award, the region’s most prestigious award for businesswomen.
“Teresa is one of our region’s most influential figures and represents our community of outstanding business leaders,” said Chamber President and CEO Rob Wonderling. “She has paved the way for women in business as a successful leader of Radian Guaranty, both regionally and nationally.”
Ms. Bazemore’s role as President of Radian Guaranty Inc. includes overseeing domestic and international mortgage insurance business operations; she previously served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Risk Officer and Secretary for Radian Group and has been based in the Greater Philadelphia region for over 10 years.
Ms. Bazemore is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the Columbia University School of Law. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Kimmel Center, Inc., the Board of Directors of Public Media Company, the Board and Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, the Board of Directors for WHYY, the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Board of the University of Virginia Foundation and of the Columbia Law School Association.
She also serves on the Board of the US Mortgage Insurers and Mortgage Bankers Board of Directors. She previously served as a member of the Mortgage Bankers Residential Board of Governors, Economic Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Consumer Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve, the Fannie Mae National Advisory Council, the Home Builders Institute, the Advisory Committee of the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators and was Board Chair of the Research Institute for Housing America.

Ms. Bazemore has previously won numerous awards and designations, including Mortgage Banking Magazine’s Top 20 Leading Industry Women, one of Housing Wire magazine’s most Influential Women in the Housing Economy, the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 14th Annual Women of Distinction Award, one of Black Enterprise Magazine’s 75 Most Powerful Women in Business, Smart CEO Magazine’s Brava! Women Business Achievement Award and American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators’ Distinguished Service Award, among others.
On Friday, March 24, 2017 the business community will celebrate Ms. Bazemore’s accomplishments with the presentation of the Paradigm crystal sculpture at a luncheon at the Hyatt at the Bellevue. Ms. Bazemore will also designate $25,000 in charitable gifts provided with support from EY.
In addition, the program will also include the Paradigm Scholarship for Working Women, which awards several women up to $5,000 in merit-based scholarships to help complete their undergraduate degrees while working full-time at Chamber member companies. A special presentation will be made to the Stradley Ronon scholar.
This award has been given annually since 1992, Ms. Bazemore being the 25th Paradigm honoree. She is joining a distinguished field of past recipients that includes Emily Bittenbender of Bittenbender Construction LP; Sue Schick of UnitedHealthcare; Mary Stengel Austen of Tierney; Renee Amoore of The Amoore Group; and Judith von Seldeneck of Diversified Search Companies.
