What is the importance of cultivating relationships with congressional staff?

With the New Year comes the start of the 115th Congress and President Trump’s Administration. While Congressional leaders in the House and Senate lay out their respective policy priorities, often overlooked are the congressional staff tasked with carrying these important federal issues across the finish line. Without their tireless work behind the scenes, so many of the important legislative achievements envisioned for our region would not be possible.

For 13 years, I have had the pleasure of working with legislative staff as Boeing’s government operations liaison in Pennsylvania and the greater Philadelphia area. During this time I’ve seen the passion for their work, their commitment to their constituents, and their dedication to public service.

Boeing recognizes the importance of congressional staff serving our area, and the critical role they have in shaping policies and legislation that affect us. Periodically we invite congressional staff to tour the Boeing Philadelphia facility as we provide them an update on our production programs, our community engagement and our business operations here. Boeing Philadelphia is one of the company’s finest production facilities with a strong future in the company’s second century. Strengthening these important staff-level relationships has proven valuable to our ability to continue serving the best interests of our employees, our customers, the communities around our facility and our suppliers in the Greater Philadelphia Region.

It’s for these reasons that Boeing has been proud to serve as the title sponsor of the Chamber’s Congressional Staff Luncheon since its inception. We are proud to join the Chamber in recognizing and honoring the chiefs of staff, state and district directors, and legislative directors from House and Senate offices for their hard work representing southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. The luncheon continues to be great way to engage and give due thanks to congressional staff serving our area.

Boeing looks forward to continue working with congressional staff in the year ahead towards outcomes that will enable us to continue serving the Greater Philadelphia community.

Meet with staff members of our congressional delegation and discuss key legislative priorities for our region in the new Congress and Administration. Learn more and register »
