The Chamber to Receive Americanism Award

Posted Thursday, November 2nd, 2017

Programs & Events, Frontpage 2, home-inthenews-2

On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, our President and CEO Rob Wonderling will be honored with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL)’s Americanism Award.

Each year, the Americanism Award is presented to a business leader who is advancing the cause of diversity and equal opportunity.

Under Rob’s leadership, the Chamber has advocated for these values and principles through our Diversity & Inclusion Initiative. Our vision is to position diversity as an invaluable element for business maturation and growth. We do so by providing excellent programming, hosting key conversations, convening thought leaders within the industry, and supporting ADL’s various programs and initiatives:

  • February 14, 2017: Hosted a corporate kick-off breakfast with Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard J. Ross, keynote speaker
  • April 4, 2017: Hosted “A World of Difference: Business Behind Bias” workshop on implicit bias
  • May 21, 2017: Participated in Walk Against Hate, which generated over $6,000
  • September 12, 2017: Hosted ADL’s BOD Reception

At the Chamber, we strive to develop and encourage best practices that benefit our members. Diversity and inclusion are fundamental to the growth and sustainability of our region’s economy, which is why we are so honored to receive this award.
